Health Walks

Murton is delighted to have joined the Health Walk network.
We will lead free, short, social walks open to everyone in the local community no matter what their age or ability might be.
The walks, led by trained staff or volunteers are designed to welcome and support the most inactive people to join in and remain open to those of all abilities in the community. Usually lasting around 30-60 minutes, Health Walks are an ideal way to enjoy some physical activity whilst meeting new people in a safe, friendly and welcoming environment.
Murton nature reserve is a short, circular walk, of just over a mile. The paths are well maintained across the reserve. With a hard path or cut grass path, with plenty of benches and view points to take a minute to stop.
You do not need to bring anything with you to walk but we do ask that you consider the weather, not only on the day of the walk but the days prior. It can be a little soft underfoot when the weather has been particularly wet. Strong footwear is advised however it is possible to walk in most flat shoes. Warm clothing is also advised for chillier days and sun protection on days where it is lovely.
If for any reason we have to cancel the walk, we will contact you using the email address you provided at registration (please see below).
Our staff will meet you at the green cabin, next to the tearoom to welcome you before you all head off on your walk together.
If you have any questions around any of our health walks or the torch walk, please do not hesitate to get in touch with our office on 01307 819491 or you can email us at murtontrust@murtontrust.org.uk
