Celebrating 25 years and launching our fundraising appeal.

We are proud to announce that we will celebrate our 25th Anniversary in April 2026. As we reach this significant milestone, we are also facing the most challenging financial period in our history. Without immediate support, the future of our cherished community asset is uncertain. Although we are working hard to secure funding and diversify our income, we cannot meet these challenges alone.
To safeguard our work for the next 25 years and beyond, we are launching a major fundraising campaign and appealing to individuals, businesses, and community supporters to consider making a financial contribution. Every donation—large or small—will help ensure that Murton remains a vital place of learning, wellbeing, and natural beauty for generations to come.
While look ahead to 2026, Murton, we are also taking the opportunity to highlight our significant achievements of 2025. During the year, young people contributed 4,013 hours of volunteering across weekends and school holidays, alongside 3,840 hours of practical skills training for those aged 14 to 18 during school term time. We also delivered 1,055 hours of supported volunteering for adults, welcomed 2,247 children and 1,297 adults to nature reserve events, and served 399 lunches to volunteers and community members in need. In addition, we provided 133 group sessions to community organisations and delivered 23 health walks.
Since our creation in 2001, we have grown from a small educational and environmental initiative into a vital community asset for Angus and beyond. We have become a haven for wildlife and a hub for learning, wellbeing, and community engagement.
Over the past 25 years, we have delivered life-changing educational programmes for young people, created meaningful volunteering opportunities for adults, and championed mental health and employability initiatives. Murton is more than a destination—we are a community, a resource, and a positive force within Angus.
As we mark our 25th Anniversary, we hope to celebrate with the many supporters, community members, and friends who have helped shape our journey. But we cannot continue this work alone. We are urging supporters to help secure Murton’s future and keep this treasured space flourishing for the next 25 years.
