We are open! 7 days 10am to 4pm. On Thursday at 5pm we discovered that the main Arbroath – Forfar road would be closed from today until the 11th July. We were not informed by Angus Council or Scottish Water that this would be happening. As with previous diversions, they do not guide you to Murton. DO NOT FOLLOW THE DIVERSIONS if you wish to come to Murton, Sinclair’s Kitchen or Foresterseat Caravan Park.

The official diversion from Forfar is out the Montrose Road, to the Arbroath-Brechin cross roads, to Friockheim and then back to Murton. This is approximately an extra 20 miles and 25 minutes to get to Murton from Forfar. You will still need to ignore all the numerous road closed signs. For those that live locally there are numerous smaller side roads that will provide access to the Arbroath Road from either the Letham area or the Montrose Road. If using these roads, you will again need to ignore all the road ahead closed signs.

We will now be contacting those that have put the diversions in place and hope that they can add some signs informing the public that we are still accessible and open. Please consider enjoying the Angus countryside on your journey here and still visiting us over the next 7 weeks.

  1. My group is booked in for lunch with you at the cafe next Sunday. With the road closure, what will be our best route (with a coach) from Aberlemno? Many thanks, Peter
