Ragged House Wall Hanging Workshop

20th July 2019 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

Create your own small wall hanging using traditional rag working techniques and tools.  Sarah will teach you the basics of ‘hooky’ and ‘proddy’ techniques and will provide plenty of re-cycled material to inspire you.  You will be guided through the design process and helped practically to make your work into a finished piece to hang at home.  This is a super fun way to begin or advance in rag working.

This workshop will be in our Rural Skills Centre (green building to the right of the tearoom) 10 am til 4 pm. There will be comfort breaks and a lunch break. Feel free to bring a pack lunch or enjoy a light lunch our tearoom.

£35 per person includes all materials

Suitable for age 16 +

Limited spaces. Booking essential.

Sarah is a self-taught rag worker, using traditional techniques and tools to make items for the home from re-cycled material.  She is a material hoarder who loves the idea of using something old to make something useful and lovely to look at.  She is also charmed by the links to the past that rag working has and finds the process of making things with rags therapeutic at every stage.
