24th September – 10am to 4pm

This September Murton is celebrating the 10 year anniversary of the opening of the nature reserve. We are holding an open day on Saturday 24th September 2016 between 10am and 4pm to celebrate. Our office and classroom at the Steading will be open with displays about the history, development and future plans of the Trust and the nature reserve. Light refreshments will be available throughout the day.

Since opening ten years ago, staff, trustees, volunteers and supporters have worked tirelessly to develop and enhance the nature reserve creating the hidden gem it is today. The transformation from a sand and gravel quarry is remarkable and we have created an idyllic setting in which to provide our education programmes to the young people of Angus and Dundee. The educational work of the charity goes from strength to strength with over 100 young people attending Murton Trust each year to gain practical work experience and qualifications. We are about to embark on the next chapter of development for the Trust with particular focus on the nature reserve. Join us on our open day to find out more.
